Residential Leasing Consultant

Job Title: Leasing Consultant

Department: Asset & Property Management

Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Reports to: Community Manager

SUMMARY: Leasing Consultants are responsible for acquiring residents (the rental of units) at their assigned property to ensure maximum occupancy at all times, high renewal rates, and perform other duties as assigned.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Coordinates move-ins and move-outs, lease negotiations and renewals, and unit showings.
  • Ensures paperwork of current and prospective residents is completed accurately.
  • Ensures residents receive a copy of all signed documentation.
  • Files lease and other important paperwork in appropriate location.
  • Collects and accounts for rental income based on existing executed leases.
  • Issues late notices and works with corporate to issue eviction notices.
  • Makes cold calls as needed to prospects.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment at all times.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred 1+ years of experience in leasing mixed used properties for multi-family residential, retail, office.
  • Yardi or MRI experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and some recognized holidays.
  • Ability to meet leasing goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects/tasks and be able to prioritize in a fast pace environment with a high sense of urgency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with a positive approach.
